In about 5 hours I’ll be in the plane on my way back to Singapore! I can’t wait to meet my family and friends! Very excited about having all the yummy food too!
I’m all packed and ready to go! Feeling quite tired and sleepy now but that’s good cos that means the chances of me falling asleep during the flight is very high! Let’s just hope there’s no crying babies, noisy and smelly people to spoil it for me!!
I’ve locked myself in the cellar for the past 5 hours playing Caesar IV!
I have not had my shower, I can’t remember if i’ve brushed my teeth or not!Hmm… hehe. I had 2 slices of toast earlier and didn’t have any lunch! Just a few pcs of dark chocolate!
There was a party upstairs earlier but I didn’t go up to say hi to anyone or have some food cos I’m shy and also cos i’m still in my PJs! hee hee
Yeah, Caesar IV is really cool! But it’s such a tough game! Have to please the citizens and also Caesar! And also to meet his constant requests! Give me a break! And then those stupid Greeks (in the game lah!) kept attacking me! And I had no money to build walls and towers! Unless I use the CHEAT code which I am trying hard not too!!! Aiyoh..
Oh there is one cheat code that you can use in the game to just win the level immediately! I mean.. what’s the point of that?? But the cheat code to get the money is really useful but i’m not going to use it cos Densha Boy will laugh at me…and call me a cheater! hehe
I’m in need of a pee soon but i think the party is still going on upstairs.. maybe i’ll continue to play Caesar IV now and i might just forget that i’ll need a pee!
I had a great Christmas!
It’s the first time Densha Boy (hehe that’s what I’ll call the boyfriend from now) and I spent Christmas together! We’ve both been apart for the last couple of years!
I was quite excited on Christmas morning cos that’s when the day we will all exchange presents! I got quite a lot of presents from his family so I was really happy! hehehe! And it was really great because this is the first time everyone is in the same room at the same time! (Including the dogs!)
Here’s what I got from his family:
1. A pair of leather gloves! Really comfortable and soft!
2. A pair of fingerless gloves/mittens. Really useful cos I hate taking off my gloves when I need to flip the papers on the train and then put them back on when my hands are too cold! So it’s really useful i can just flip the mitten part over my fingers when I need them!
3. A “pom-pom” scarf.. it has lots of little round furry balls on it.. it’s quite warm but too cold to wear for now.
4. 2 Sudoku books! These will come in handy when i’m waiting for the trains, buses, friends who are always late! Or when Densha boy is hogging the lappie while I have nothing to do! hehe
5. A pc game! It’s CAESAR IV! Yahoo! I wanted this game because I’ve played Caesar III before and I really loved it! It’s one of my fav game! Yahoo! And now it’s back and it’s better!!!
6. A hand cream and a shower mousse from The Sanctuary.
7. A bar of dark chocolates from Thorntons! I love Thorntons!
8. A pair of funky Wellies! It has pink, blue (and lots of other colours) stripes! Now there is no more excuses to not go walking especially when it’s wet and muddy out there!
9. Got a bottle of yorkshire punch too! We got it last summer when we went camping up North and it was so good! This is actually from Densha Boy.
I think that’s all I got. Densha boy and I have decided not to spend too much money on gifts for ourselves but spend that money on a holiday next year! Somewhere in Europe! Yahoo! But i cheated and got him a beanie hat! Well he cheated too cos he gave me that yorkshire punch.. but i guess we’re even now!
Yeah yesterday has got to be one of the best Christmas for me! I’m actually quite glad it’s over because shopping for Christmas presents can be such a nightmare!
We had a hard time thinking of what to get everyone! In the end, we’ve decided to get his mum a box of chocolates and also to bring her on a trip to somewhere in Europe (destination of her choice), all expenses paid! (that means i get to go on a Holiday TWICE next year!! yes!). And…After a long search and lots of panic, we got his father 2 sci-fi books and we’re going to pay for some of his expenses when he goes on an all expenses paid trip in Europe (destination of his choice) with his brother. We got his brother a love voodoo doll hahaha, a box of chocolates and a pearl milk tea(he loves his bubble tea!) and we’re going to get him something nice when we’re in Singapore or maybe in Hong Kong.
Yeah, it has been a great Christmas this year.. Did i say that already? 😀
Only 4 more days before I’m back in Singapore! I can’t wait! In the meantime, i shall pack my luggage! Or maybe I’ll play a bit of Caesar IV first hehehehe…
Yesterday was the best day at work for me.. even though I didn’t had a great start in the morning.
Woke up with a really funny tummy and because of that I was late and couldn’t get my usual train to work. Finally got to the train station and waited for the other train to arrive but turned out it was delayed due to some train fault! Had to wait in the cold which wasn’t fun at all. I think it was about minus 2 degrees then! It finally came.. but after 20minutes we were told that the train had to terminate at Welywn Garden City! Had to wait again in the cold for the next train! It was so packed! But it didn’t take too long to get to London Kings Cross so that’s ok!
Anyway, yeah, yesterday was the best day at work! I wished everyday.. well almost everyday could be like this.. where everyone is happy!! The bosses weren’t around yesterday! And so wasy bossy girl! (Boss girl is quite a nice girl actually but she just makes people uncomfortable with her presence and we can’t play around when she’s around!) And there were only just 6 of us. No one could concentrate at all because.. well … it’s just hard isn’t it?
We turned up the radio and tried to work.. but most of us ended up surfing the net and doing some last minute shopping online! We ordered some christmas lunch and the guys bought some wine and beer and we were all drinking away and chatting.. We played pictionary too.. It was just so fun. There was also a round of jousting! Instead of horses, the guys used the office chairs hahaha and also umbrellas for the shield and the foam key board wrist rests as the sword/rondel. It was just too funny!!
It’s so much fun with the bosses are not around hehehe.
6 days to Singapore!!! 😀
Last night I called HSBC to transfer some £ to my Singapore (S$) account. I was told it will take 6 to 7 days. I thought it might take longer because i’ve never been impressed with UK’s banking system! It takes about 4 days for a cheque to clear! So with Christmas coming, i thought it might take more than a week. But guess what? My TT (Telegraphic Transfer)… it took less than 24 hours!! The money is already in my UOB a/c now! How great is that! The money is now sitting happily in my a/c waiting for me to spend it when I’m back! hehe But first… I better repay some of my mum’s loan first…

It’s getting really cold here… last week it was still above 10 degrees celcius.. today it was about 0 to 2! Not looking forward to the cold weather.. but guess it won’t matter to me cos I’ll be back in HOT and HUMID Singapore soon! 11 days to be exact! Yahooo!!!
Got off work early today! Well on time actually.. made it to Kings Cross at 6.13pm! Was really happy cos that means I could take the 6.23pm express train home! Got to the concourse to check which platform the train is .. and instead of numbers I saw the word “CANCELLED” ……………….. I was not amused!
But thankfully, the 6.30 train was not cancelled.. so i got on to it….
It turned out there was a fatality at Oakleigh Park! GRRR. I wonder if it is a suicide again.. If it is.. I would like to know.. Why can’t that person just kill him/herself at home? Maybe just slit his wrist in a hot bath? With maybe some soft music playing at the background? And a glass of wine? Why must they choose such a painful and ugly death? And thanks to him (i’m assuming the dead person is a him.. hehe), it took me about 1 hr or so to get home today! I mean.. i feel sorry that this person had to choose to die this way… but I just don’t understand why people who throw themselves onto the tracks want to die such a painful death.. and also.. cause so much disruption!
If it wasn’t a suicide.. then why did this person not keep clear of the tracks!!!! Why can’t he be smart enough to keep away or stand away from the platform etc?
ARGH!!
I hope tomorrow’s journey to and from work will not disrupted.. I have only 4 working days to go.. so please… if you are thinking of throwing yourself on the track please do it between Jan and Feb next year cos I won’t be around! And also.. don’t every jump on the line that First Capital Connect travels on and also the Hammersmith and City, Metroplitanand Circle Line. I would appreciate that and I’m sure thousands of commuters will too!
So on Friday I left work on the dot .. at 6pm. Got to Kings Cross at 6.15pm… only to find the concourse really crowded and I knew it! I knew something was wrong and I’m not going to get home early!!
I was patiently waiting for the announcement telling me which platform I should get for the 6.23pm First Capital Connect train to Stevenage…then at 6.21pm, an announcement was made… passengers going to Stevenage should take the 6.22pm train at platorm 10. So everyone ran to platform 10 to board the train.. but unfortunately, the train left!!! GRRRRR! How annoying is that? You would think that they would wait for you for at least another 2 to 3 minutes given the crowded condition at the station…But no, they have to go on time! (even though most of the train arrived late!).
So I waited near platform 9/10/11 with the rest of the people….and an announcment was made. “The 6.30pm train going to Edinburgh-Waverly is boarding at platform 1”. I knew this train can take me to Stevenage too cos that’s what it says on the board!! So i ran from the other end of the station to platform 1, trying not to fall over from that stupid bitch who was sitting in the middle of the crowded station with her legs all stretched out and chatting on the phone! I so wanted to “accidentally” stepped on her legs and break them! But no, I had more important things to do like get into the next available train and get home!!! So anyway, i ran all the way to platform 1, got into the cabin.. and was really happy because I am on my way home baby!!
But of course, GNER is determined not to let me get home!! …Especially commuters like me who pay more than £300 a month for a season ticket! So while i was all smug and happy, an announcement was made. “This train is not stopping at Stevenage. The next destination is Peterborough.”
Argh! I almost cried then but i couldn’t because I was still panting away! But i managed to let out a small whine and got off the train and headed towards the concourse with my eyes on the boards…. Great, the 6.23pm train is not there on the board anymore so it must have left while i was running to platform 1! But there is still hope because there is still the 6.36pm train eventhough the platform number has yet to be announced. I kept my eyes on the board while walking towards platform 9/10/11… No platform number yet…. and then at approx 6.35pm.. the board says 11! So again, everyone rushed to platform 11 only to find the train leaving on time again!!!
So what is the point in announcing the platform number 1 min (or maybe less) before it departs? And I won’t be surprised if someone just snaps and hurt someone really bad!!!! I won’t blame them!
Yeah so anyway, eventually i got on to the 6.52pm train, the really scenic route. I knew there was a 6.53 train but there was no sign of it and i just couldn’t be arsed to wait around any longer.. so i got into the train and waited for the train to leave.. and that was about a good 3 min. So while waiting, i heard the announcement “The 6.30pm train departing for Edinburgh-Waverly is now boarding at platform 8.” It went on to announce the destinations at Stevenage was one of them! But hang on, I thought that train was boarding at platform 1 and I was there earlier! Why is it at platform 8 now? And why has it decided to call at Stevenage now? What is wrong with these people? Can’t they do something right????
I was tempted to run to platform 8, it’s not that far away.. but no way.. i’d rather stay in the train for now.. I’d rather be stuck in the train than at Kings Cross station!!!!
So yeah that’s my friday evening for you.. took me 2 hours to get home!! GRRRR
And I don’t understand why a fire at St. Neots will affect train journeys to Stevenage?
