Yesterday’s Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab festival was a DISAPPOINTMENT.

The only thing Singaporean about it is the queuing up for the FREE goodie bag and the queuing up for the food!

Chicken rice was too salty! The Char Kway Teow was bland. We could only taste the oil and chilli! Yucks! The Chilli Crab was ok.. not that bad but could be better. The lion dance was pathetic! The lion was so small… a Singaporean boy (about 8 yrs old) said it’s a dog! HAHAHAHA! There were no cymbals just drums! I wish i’d taken a pic of that “dog” but i was too busy complaining to Husband about it.

Please lor STB! If you want to have such events, please fly in the best hawkers from Singapore and let them serve REAL Singapore food to the people!! And also maybe fly in the No.1 lion dance troupe from Singapore and not hire some dodgy troupe that has a small lion that looks like a dog! Oh and with a big drum and cymbals please! Not a little drum that the drummer could strap over his shoulder. It’s not a snare drum!!

ARGH!

I felt it’s a total misrepresentation of Singapore!

Anyway, we left after finishing our food and walked around Spitafields market and went to Absolute Vintage. It’s so big! I think it’s a Vintage Heaven to Vintage lovers!

We went to Portobello Market and it was fantastic! Brilliant! Hog Heaven! Almost wanted to get a flat cap but it was 20quid.. couldn’t bear to pay that much for one but came home to check that it actually cost 65quid! DOH! But it was a bit too big for my small head though.. ah well. Oh and we chanced upon this nice little malaysian cafe called Makan. We ordered Char Kway Teow cos we were really disappointed by the one at the festival! Anyway, this time, it was much better! We were both really happy! Too bad there’s no cockles in it..Oh, The malaysian waiter was really impressed when Husband could pronounce Char Kway Teow perfectly! hehe

Back to Portobello Market….

I was looking at some cool boots at a stall when Husband reminded me that I still have a pair of boots that I’ve never worn and the stall owner turned round to me and said.. “Rule #1! Never bring your boyfriend with you when you go shopping! Especially to my stall!” LOL! It was so funny. I agree with her.. which is what I might do next time.. hehehe Or I’ll leave the Husband at the Makan cafe while i walk around the market.. 😀

Might go write a letter to STB now… or maybe after my Brain Training and er.. maybe after playing Hotel Dusk Room 215. I’m close to solving the mystery!!

This evening, there were lots of policemen at Hitchin station. Not sure why but i think they were trying to catch people carrying guns/knives..and i think it might be linked to this case? The suspects were arrested in Stevenage aka Chav Town which is not far from Hitchin!

Anyway, the police set up a metal detector outside the station. I was hoping they would ask me to walk through it.. because it would be so funny to see their faces when they check my bag… only to find a metal spoon in my lunchbox! hehehehe 😀

… for the Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab Festival @ Brick Lane, London!

I am so excited! I am so looking forward to trying the food. It better be good! Or I will be writing to STB and my first sentence will be “Please lor!”.

I hope i won’t be disappointed..

Check out the website! And check out the “What’s new” section. Terry Tan, the chef… reminds me of Dick, my ex boss! They look quite alike! It’s quite annoying! Argh! But it’s alright now. Dick got what he deserved (he was asked to leave! yahoo!).

Anyway…

I am so looking forward to this. Husband and I were talking about it last night and we are thinking of going to starve ourselves the night before.. and eat our body weight worth of singaporean food.. hehehe.. IF it doesn’t cost us too much! ho ho ho

I think we should catch those people who killed the gorillas in Congo, the gangsters who beat/shoot people for fun/to show off etc , paedophiles, rapists… ok lah all criminals.. and possibly scientologists and bring them to an island so they can kill off each other… just like what the kids had to go through in Battle Royale. The last survivor is the winner and gets to go to jail! LOL!
I think that is the perfect solution.

Last night i had a terrible nightmare…

I dreamt my youngest niece – No. 2 , was missing!

My mother went to fetch her from school but she was nowhere to be found! It was terrible and we were all so upset. I remembered everyone crying in the dream and was looking for No. 2 desperately.

I woke up feeling really sad and had to stop and think if it was real! Luckily it’s not!

And then i thought of Madeline McCann… She’s about the same age as No.2 I wonder where is she now.. Will she ever see her parents again? I hope someone will find her and bring her back to where she belongs. And i hope whoever that has abducted her will rot in hell….

Just remembered this conversation I had with my grandma (aka Grandma101 cos she’s 101 this year! and my friends call her that..and i think it’s cool lol) . I love her to bits and I miss her so much!

————————

Grandma101: How old are you this year? 28?

Me: I’m going to be 30!

Grandma101: Aiyoh, you better get married soon! Your bones are getting hard!

Me: HAHAHAHA

Grandma101: I’m going to give you $200 to buy a gold bangle. I’ve kept that money for you for a long time! $200 for you and $50 for your husband.

———————————

Husband wasn’t too impress with the $50. He thinks he should have more hehehe.

I remembered once we bought Grandma101 to the Jewellery shop. She was about 99 then and she was going to get some gold chain for someone in the family (can’t remember who). I remembered her bargaining with the boss and we all (6 of us) were amused by her bargaining skills. She was so persistant! The boss was amused too… and gave her a good discount. 🙂 Hurrah!

There’s not much time left for you to vote for the new 7 wonders of the world!

Help make history and vote for the new 7 wonders of the world!

What are you going to vote for?

My 7 votes will go for.. the Taj Mahal, The Great Wall of China, Angkor… and.. er i am not sure yet.. but I am definitely not voting for the Eiffel Tower.. not that I hate the French hehe but I think it’s just an attraction and does not deserve to be one of the 7 Wonders of the World!

Go spread the word! 🙂

I’ve been a lady of leisure for 3 weeks and tomorrow i’ll be going back to the grind and be a commuter! Boo hoo hoo!

Also, i have to use the Northern line now! I hate travelling on the Northern Line..because it’s going to be more crowded… and it’s getting warmer (with the exception of this week) and I hate to be in the tube with sweaty people! Eeeek!

But the thought of working from 9am to 5pm makes me happy hehehe.. so I guess it’s not too bad.. I’m looking forward to starting my new job! Yahooo…

Oh…I don’t know what to wear to work tomorrow..hmmm

Last night, I was watching the Jap horror movie – One Missed Call with Husband.

It was a bit scary for me…. It’s about these people getting missed calls from their own numbers and then die mysteriously!

While watching halfway..at the most exciting part, my phone rang!!

I screamed and was going “OH NO!!!! AAHHHH!”

And then i realised… Husband was playing a prank on me! LOL!

It was so funny! We laughed for a whole minute i think!

Now I must think of a way to get back at Husband… muahahaha

The big day is over now! It’s weird that I now have a husband! hehe and everytime I look at him and the ring that he’s wearing, i can’t help but giggle to myself! hehehe

I was caught 3 times for referring to him as my boyfriend yesterday! LOL!

———————————–

It was a cloudy day that day.. not too cold….it rained a little too after the ceremony..

Makeup lady took a bit longer than expected to do my hair and makeup. So we had to rush to the registry office. I ran to the car, in my wedding gown and with my sports jacket over it haha and also i was wearing my birkenstock because no way am i going to run in a pair of 4 inch heels! Of course, i changedto my heels in the car! I don’t want to be late and miss my wedding!! And guess what? I forgot to bring my bouquet of flowers! LOL! Called MIL’s handphone and she didn’t answer! Called the home phone and no one answered! Husband was so stressed! There was a bit of an effing moment for him but I sat in the car laughing cos i thought it was so funny! Luckily, everyone at home noticed the bride left the bouquet of flowers at home and brought it along. So all was fine! Phew!

The ceremony was great. There were times when I wanted to cry but the thought of me with panda eyes stopped me!

So.. anyway… i walked down the aisle and kept stepping on my skirt! Suddenly it seems so long! So i made my way.. slowly, down the aisle to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” at the background while trying not to trip!

We made the vows, exchanged the rings, signed the register and posed for some photos. Made our way out to Barry White’s “I’m Qualified to Statisfy You”. So that’s it, I’m married! It was really fun. Everyone wanted to dance along!

We went to our favourite indian restaurant for a meal and the owner bought us champagne. It was so nice. I could’t eat too much cos the bodice was a bit tight! hahaha. I wanted to loosen it but i didn’t want to risk exposing my boobs! I still managed to eat quite a lot and also drank a lot!

We went home to take more pictures in the garden with everyone and in the evening we all had a BBQ. It was really nice especially when the sun is out and everyone is more relaxed. I was also glad to be out of the gown and the 4 inch heels hehe.

I enjoyed myself a lot eventhough my family wasn’t there. Everyone had lots of fun and so did I! There were lots of boozing too. I laughed when i heard the bin man emptying our bin today. I could hear the wine and beer bottles being emptied and it seemed like it was never going to end!

A friend told me I have to start behaving like a wife now.. and i asked how.. he said I have to be grumpy, put rollers in my hair and put on 140lbs! LOL! I don’t think I can do that.. well i can be grumpy but not sure of the other 2.

Anyway, Husband is out at work now and I have been a good wife. I’ve changed the bed sheets all by myself! Normally I couldn’t do it because the bed was too heavy and it’s hard to change it but today i managed to do it!!

I going to cook dinner for us too! He has been the one cooking for me everyday! So today’s my turn!  Also, with my new job that lets me work from 9 to 5, i guess there will be more chance for me to cook for us!

OK.. i better get started on my wife duties! hahaha

Oh and thanks everyone for the well wishes! 🙂
